Welcome to Oban Fm Cash for Kids.

Its that time of year for our annual fund raising.

This year as well as our Big Live Auction Day and Gala Dinner we have some more treats for you, we are also extending the activities to two days. In doing so we hope to enable more of the generous people in our community to be involved in fund raising for the kids. A wee reminder that all the monies raised locally will be spent locally.

The organising committee has changed slightly. The main team of Alan Campbell, Harry McMaster and Neil Mackay has been augmented by Mike Wilson who takes over as Treasurer leaving Alan to concentrate on the fund raising. Also joining the boys is Sandy Rokitta, Linda Crosher and Eleanor MacKinnon . Another addition to the committee is the Rev. Ken Hunter who as well as other duties within the committee has taken on the roll of Chaplain to Cash for Kids.

We kick off on Oban FM 103.3 at 8.00am with the Cash for Kids Breakfast Show hosted by Linda which leads nicely into the full Oban FM Cash for Kids All Day Live Auction at 9.00am. The N.A.F. and a Half team will in their seats to welcome everyone, after which the boys intend to be out and about as well. So be prepared for some surprise visits.

CFK are hoping lots and lots of offices and shops will be doing something for the day, dressing up or down, having home baking or any other fun fund raising that takes your fancy. Some workplaces are promising a ‘Yellow Day’ which is the official CFK colour, this should make the day a bit brighter.

This frantic day will have lots of folk popping in to help or just to say hello. The Auction continues all day until just after 6.00 pm where the CFK mob will be joined, slightly earlier than usual, by the 103.3 Sports Dream Team who will help take the Live Auction to a close.

After the excitement of the All Day Live Auction the fund raising continues with a Caribbean Beach Party Disco in The Lorn Bar (how did Neil & Alan come up with that idea) this will go on until the ‘wee small hours’.

Starts off at 10.00 am with the CFK Coffee Morning in the Congregational Church Hall on Tweeddale St. There will all the usual goodies on offer including a very large home baking stall. There will be members of CFK on hand to help and the NAF boys will be showing face. We also hope to have some live music.

The Gala Dinner

This promises to be the glittering event that we have area all used to either attending or just even heard about.

The evening kicks off 7.00 for 7.30 pm with complimentary drinks on arrival.

Followed by a sumptuous five course meal with live music for dancing provided by The Democrats fresh from their success at the Oban Hogmanay Event.

During the evening there will be other forms of entertainment in many guises and surprises. Not forgetting the Exiting Evening Auction.
